Audio Books For Your Pup To Calm and Reduce Anxiety

Yes, you read that right! Amazon now offers “Audible For Dogs”! They teamed up with dog behaviorist Cesar Milan to show how listening can make your dog calmer and happier. I am SO EXCITED for this!

Audible and Cesar’s Way Inc. / Cesar Milan’s Dog Psychology Center performed a study whose results suggest that certain types of audio books can help your pup stay calm when you’re away for a period of time. They have some awesome recommendations for audio books that can not only calm your pup but are also excellent books for yourself.

Check out the recommended audio books on Amazon here: http://amzn.to/2DY2zfA

I have personally listened to a portion of many of the recommendations and I can see why they would be calming. You can listen to a portion of the books before you purchase them so go ahead and take a listen!

These links will take you to Amazon so you can sample them for yourself. Some of my favorites are:

The Art Of Racing In The Rain

A Dog’s Purpose

The Snow Queen

Winnie-the-Pooh: A.A. Milne’s Pooh Classics, Volume 1

Journey to the Center of the Earth: A Signature Performance by Tim Curry

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole: Guardians of Ga’Hoole, Books One, Two, and Three

There are some really great books on this list that I would personally get for myself which makes it even more awesome that they can benefit my pups. I love my dogs (they were my first babies) so if they can feel more calm while I’m away, I’ll give it a shot.

Are you thinking about getting a dog for your family? Make sure you start at your local shelter; there are so many great dogs that need a home. Not sure about how to bring a shelter dog home to your family? Check out this awesome book that can give you some insight: Cesar Millan’s Guide to Bringing Home a Shelter Dog.

Here’s a photo of my pups! Wouldn’t you do anything for these faces?
