From Infant To Toddler: Products That Make Your Life Easier

I’ve noticed that there are plenty of lists, when doing a quick Google search, on what to get a newborn or a baby. But what about that in-between stage where your baby isn’t so little anymore and is learning new things at a million miles a minute? From baby-proofing to practicality, here’s a list of must-have items that will make your life easier during one of the most important stages of your baby’s life:

A Placemat Bowl/Plate Combo

A plate or bowl that can’t be thrown onto the floor is a must-have for any family with toddlers. This will save you so much time in cleaning up the inevitable accidental (or purposeful) swing of the arms during dinner. On top of making your life easier, this is a great transition tool to help your little one start learning to eat out of bowls and plates. Get it here: http://amzn.to/2F0dGnw(affiliate link)

A Fun and Practical Toy Storage System

You need a ton of space for your toddler’s toys – this you already know! If you can get containers that are both fun and practical (like this organizer shaped like a train: http://amzn.to/2DwIOy6)(affiliate link), you’ll be well on your way to keeping a tidy(ish) house. What’s nice about these containers is that, once you’re child outgrows them, you can fold them up and store them for another child or to easily donate.

A Versatile Cube Organizer/Book Case

This awesome organizer can be used as a bookcase, to store square bins full of toys, and to display special items. It comes in a variety of colors and can fit in most standard closets. Get it here: http://amzn.to/2DrHhWs(affiliate link)

Indestructible Books

I know you may think I’m crazy, but I’m not! They actually make indestructible books now that babies and kids can chew, crinkle, throw in the toilet, and more without tearing or becoming destroyed. On top of all that, they are 100% washable! Check out the many different books on Amazon: http://amzn.to/2HeckHR(affiliate link)

A Spill Proof Snack Container

Worried about your little one throwing their snacks all over the ground? Well now they can throw their snack container and not lose a single cookie, cracker, or puff with these fabulous “Snack Catchers” from Amazon: http://amzn.to/2Hew6Tu(affiliate link)

A Convertible Highchair

Nothing beats saving money and space by getting a highchair that can be used from the moment baby is ready for solids until they grow out of needing a booster seat. Finding one that you can even use for two kids at once would be best! My absolute favorite is this one by Graco: http://amzn.to/2F54SxO(affiliate link)

Sippy Cups That Don’t Spill or Cause Dental Issues

It’s so important to teach your little one how to use a cup and to not be dependent on cups that have nipples. That’s why these cups are awesome:  http://amzn.to/2HgLu1R(affiliate link). They can even be used by babies that are just learning to use sippy cups!

Baby Gates

Once your little one figures out how to become mobile, all bets are off. You’ll need to be vigilant about keeping an eye on your baby like a hawk but just to be extra careful, you’ll also need to baby-proof your house. That means the baby gates need to go up above and below the stairs and in the doorways of areas that baby shouldn’t be able to get into. Take a look at my favorite gates here: http://amzn.to/2HGlCfI(affiliate link)

A Travel Potty Chair

For those times that you’re on a long car trip or you simply can’t get to a bathroom fast enough, a travel potty chair with disposable bags is a lifesaver! http://amzn.to/2EMjIwi(affiliate link)

A Stool

Whether it’s for helping in the kitchen or for reaching the sink in the bathroom, a stool is a must. You can find a ton of different options in all kinds of different colors to suit your home. Try this versatile one from Amazon: http://amzn.to/2sODUIj(affiliate link)

Magnetic Cabinet Locks

Baby-proofing can be a daunting task, especially when you realize what it’s going to be like to un-baby proof in a few years. The magnetic cabinet locks allow you to secure you cabinets without having to make holes in anything. They are also easy to remove when the time comes! http://amzn.to/2CDXrLe(affiliate link)

A Wet/Dry Bag

Keep wet and dry clothes separate or keep dirty diapers at bay while you’re out. This particular wet/dry bag is completely waterproof and has a stroller strap for easy carrying: http://amzn.to/2CCtWtq(affiliate link)

 Outlet Covers

This is a no-brainer for most parents but a new invention actually eliminates the need for the traditional outlet cover. This is a replacement outlet cover that closes automatically if something comes unplugged: http://amzn.to/2sMxjhA(affiliate link). No more worrying about electric shock!

Corner and Edge Covers

When baby becomes mobile, you’ll need to keep those furniture corners covered to protect baby’s head. The best option is something that won’t damage furniture and is easy to remove like this one: http://amzn.to/2EKrs1Y(affiliate link)

This list is a work-in-progress and will become more complete over time. If you have any great products that made your life easier, please leave them in the comments!
