Lentil and Black Bean Soup

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Tbsp oil
  • 1/4 cup Onion diced
  • 1 Tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 cup green lentils rinsed and picked through
  • 1 15-ounce can Black Beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 4 cups Water

Method
 

  1. In a large pot, heat oil on medium heat. Add onions and sauté until soft and translucent.
  2. Add cumin, garlic powder, chili powder, black beans,  tomato sauce,  lentils, and water.
  3. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 25 minutes or until lentils are tender.
