You’re pregnant! Congratulations! Now that you’ve found out you’re growing a tiny human (or you know someone who is), you may be wondering what you’ll need to make things go smoothly. Well, you’ve come to the right place! Here’s a complete list of products that will make your life easier and more comfortable throughout your pregnancy:
A Full-Body Maternity Pillow
A full-body pillow is an absolute must to allow you to get comfy with your ever-growing belly. It can be used in a number of ways to help you relax and get those much needed Z’s (until you have to get up to pee again). Another pillow tip: get yourself a regular body pillow as well – use it while sleeping, lounging on the couch, or during labor (I promise, you’ll be SO happy you did!).
Relaxation in a Bottle
Get yourself some moisturizing lotion to help with the itchiness and dry skin from all that stretching. Rub it on your belly, thighs, or request a nice back rub from your significant other (You’re welcome!). Not only will it give you some major relief, it’s a nice way to relax and bond with your baby.
Prenatal vitamins are an absolute must for the health of you and your baby. Make sure you choose vitamins that have folate, rather than folic acid, as it is more easily absorbed by the body. No matter which vitamins you choose, make sure you talk to your doctor about what’s best for you and your baby.
A Pair of Comfy Pants
These are an absolute must! A pair of comfy pants that you can wear while you’re out (that don’t look like sweatpants) are going to be your new best friend. Heck, you will probably end up wearing them ALL. THE. TIME. You can even wear some maternity pants after you give birth if they have a fold over top, like the ones pictured above.
A Comfy Pair of Slippers
You NEED comfy footwear – both for going out and for staying in. You’ll absolutely love to slip into a pair of warm, comfy slippers to soothe those aches and pains at the end of a long day of carrying around a tiny human.
Maternity Jeans that Look and Feel Good
You’ll want options when it comes to outfits so it’s always nice to have a pair of comfy jeans. When buying maternity pants, just get your normal size for the first two trimesters. If you’re planning on wearing them in your third trimester, go up a size so they fit more comfortably around the belly.
A Maternity Bra that Doubles as a Nursing Bra
You’ll need a bra that doesn’t have an underwire and can stretch to accommodate your new cup size. Look into getting a maternity bra that can also be used as a nursing bra for an easy transition after baby arrives.
A Huge Travel Cup for Water
You’ll need to stay hydrated during your entire pregnancy and having this huge cup nearby will make things easy. After baby comes, you will also need this while your nursing as you will be insatiably thirsty!
Heartburn, Nausea, and Anxiety Remedies
Pregnancy brings many new aches and pains, so having something to help ease them is a must. From heartburn and nausea to stress and anxiety, natural remedies like herbal tea can be a huge relief. Just be sure to drink tea that is deemed safe for use during pregnancy.
A Way To Get Prepared
If this is your first baby, you may have a million questions about what to expect. From wondering about the changes your body is going through to childbirth and bringing baby home, it’s so important to ease your mind by becoming familiar with what lies ahead. Once you do, you can focus more on being relaxed and positive during your pregnancy.
