Cook Time 30 minutes
Servings: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • For Meatballs:
  • 2 lb Ground Beef or Turkey
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/3 Cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 2 tsp Oregano
  • 2 Egg
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • Vegetable or Avocado oil for frying/browning if using Ground Beef (or bake in the oven on a sheet pan for 15-20 minutes at 400° F until internal temperature reaches 165°)
  • For Sauce:
  • 1 1/2 cups Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 2 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 3/4 cup Ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce

Method

  1. Combine sauce ingredients in a medium sauce pan and simmer for 20 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine ground meat, Worcestershire, breadcrumbs, oregano, egg, salt, pepper, and garlic, mixing until completely combined.
  3. Roll about 2 tablespoons of meat mixture into a ball and place on a lined baking sheet. Continue rolling the rest of the meat mixture into balls.
  4. In a large pan, brown meatballs on all sides in hot oil (no oil is needed for ground beef) or bake in the oven at 400° for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Place cooked meatballs in sauce and simmer, covered for 30-60 minutes or until cooked through, stirring occasionally to avoid burning the sauce (meatballs and sauce can also go in a slow cooker at this point).
  6. Serve over rice or noodles and veggies. Enjoy!
